Blog

The blog is the very first thing I set up when I embarked on the Dolci & Delizie project.  I found that creating it greatly improved my visibility.

The various sections of the blog cover most of my work from sweets to savoury, encapsulating all that I love doing most…..cooking and baking.

Strawberry Basil Loaf Cake

This is the last of the baked goods I’m going to prepare using strawberries. It appears to be the beginning of the end of their season, unfortunately. The strawberry and basil combination in this cake is delightfully fresh, while the maple syrup adds a pleasant touch of sweetness. Makes one loaf 115g butter 230g buttermilk 100g caster sugar 55g light brown sugar 85g maple syrup 2 eggs 290g plain flour + 2 tbsp 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 1 tsp baking powder 1...

Peppers & Couscous

This dish is very versatile. It’s a great side dish and very simple to prepare. I used instant couscous, the boil in bag which is ready in a minute and a half. Quinoa and bulgar will work well too. What you add to your couscous is entirely up to you and to your tastes. I opted for pine nuts, which I dry fried, dried cranberries, raisins, goat’s cheese & sweet corn. The red peppers are the long type but regular bell peppers are great too. I left these whole, removing only the top part, and the internal seeds. Then I filled...
